New dungeon design underway


I'm currently in the process of revisiting the design of the dungeon elements used in the first dungeon. The elements consist of rooms and hallways and they are patched together in a way to provide a unique play-though experience each time through the dungeon. The current room elements however were only intended as placeholders to demonstrate what the dungeon was capable of. In the last patch, there were a few tweaks to the existing rooms but as the lighting really didn't improve in the way I wanted (among other reasons), I decided it was better to tackle replacing the placeholder now instead of later.

The few rooms that have been created are coming together pretty well although they still need to have light balancing applied. That may be put off till later as I have an upcoming task to replace all of the torch lights with effects that more closely approximate how firelight works.

For now, the new dungeon rooms are coming along well and are almost ready to be released for testing. For now, I've uploaded a video demonstrating what they look like today.
